- How catholic People Laugh--I [Jesus] will give you {Peter} [SINGULAR] the keys of the kingdom of heaven,

ready here we go

V
1441 Only God forgives sins“. Since he is the Son of God, Jesus says of himself, "The Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" and exercises this divine power: "Your sins are forgiven." Further, by virtue of his divine authority he gives this power to men to exercise in his name”

[See above John 20:20-23, and this:  Matt. 16: 18-19] And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.

I [Jesus] will give you {Peter} [SINGULAR]  the keys of the kingdom of heaven,

and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,

and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

And passed to other Apostles and therefore the CC in

Matt. 18:18 “Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

1444 In imparting to his apostles his own power to forgive sins the Lord also gives them the authority to reconcile sinners with the Church.
First of all you must understand this,

that All prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,

2nd. Peter 1: 16-21  You will do well to pay attention to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,

because no prophecy ever came by the impulse of man, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”

This ecclesial dimension of their task is expressed most notably in Christ's solemn words to Simon Peter: "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven

, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

"The office of binding and loosing which was given to Peter was also assigned to the college of the apostles united to its head."
